Chief Ralston is a native of Indiana and attended Recruit Training in Chicago, IL. His sea duty assignments included VS-22 Dragonfires, VS-35 Blue Wolves, and VS-22 Checkmates. He completed deployments or detachments onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74), USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), USS Constellation (CV-64) and USS George Washington (CVN-73).
His shore duty assignments included VS-41 Shamrocks; Naval Science Institute, Newport, Rhode Island (2 months); NROTC Purdue, West Lafayette, Indiana; and his current command Naval Technical Training Center Pensacola assigned as an Aviation Electronics Technician (Intermediate Level) Instructor.
Chief Ralston is a graduate of the Navy Science Institute, Class 0403 (FOXTROT Company), Newport, Rhode Island; and Purdue University where he earned his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Science focusing in Physics. He earned his Enlisted Surface and Aviation Warfare designation and is qualified as a Master Training Specialist and Military Training Instructor.
Chief Ralston's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation(two awards), Navy Battle "E" Ribbon (two awards), Good Conduct Medal (five awards), National Defense Medal (two awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (two awards), Southwest Asia Service medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary) Medal, Global War on Terrorism (Service) Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (three awards).
