Welcome Selectee Bio's


Quartermaster Chief Petty Officer (sel) Joseph B. Murray IV was born in Los Angeles on October 23, 1977 and raised in Nashville; TN. Chief (sel) graduated from Hunters Lane High School.

After graduation from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, Chief (sel) Murray attended Signalman 'A' school across the street at NTC Great Lakes, Illinois and graduated January 13 1997.
His first sea tour of duty was on board (which was at the time) PCD BATAAN on from the 27th of January of 1997 till March 1998.  His next sea tour was on board the USS PENSACOLA (LSD-38) from March 1998 to October 1999.  From there Signalman Third Class (at the time) Joseph Murray went to the USS EISENHOWER (CVN-69) as Signalman Watch Supervisor. 
His only shore duty assignment included Physical Security at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX. SM2's primary duty was Patrolmen as well as Field Training Officer.  While at Security Petty Officer Murray was promoted to Quarter Master first class.  He detached from Nas Corpus Christi on March of 2005.  From there he went to the MHC Crew Loyalty (A Mine Hunter Crew out of Ingleside), TX from the 2005 to 2006.  He then transferred to Assault Craft Unit TWO where he obtained his Craft master qualification. 

He has two son's Joseph B. Murray V age ten as well as Joshua Puebla-Murray age 7 who both live in Texas.
