Aviation Structural Mechanic (Safety Equipment) Chief (Select) (Aviation Warfare/Surface Warfare) Richard Patrick Keillor was born on November, 13th 1980 in Riverdale, Georgia and graduated from Atlanta Job Corps in 2001.  He enlisted in the Navy under the Delayed Entry Program on April 12, 2001 and reported for Basic Recruit Training at Great Lakes, Illinois on December 19, 2001.  He reported to Naval Aviation Technical Training Center, Pensacola, FL in March of 2001 for AME "A" school.  He Graduated top of class and was accepted into the Accelerated Advancement Program.

Upon completion of "A" school, he reported to VFA-125, Rough Raiders, NAS Lemoore, CA.  He was advanced to Petty Officer Third Class on September 23rd , 2002.  While assigned to the Line Division he qualified as a Plane Captain, Final Checker and Line Collateral Duty inspector. He was later assigned as the Workcenter Supervisor.  He was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class on June 16, 2002. 

In early July 2004, he reported to the Sidewinders of VFA-86.  During this tour, he embarked on USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) for the ENTERPRISE Strike Group (CSG-12) Deployment 2006 in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM and USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) for the NIMITZ Strike Group Deployment (CSG-11) 2009 to the Western Pacific area of responsibility.  He also completed detachments to Nellis AFB, NV, NAS Fallon, NV, NAF El Centro, CA, in support of training for Sidewinder pilots. Additionally, he qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, High Power Turn Operator, Low Power Turn Instructor, and AME Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector.

His leadership and dedication to strike the fighter mission were recognized in 2010 when he was selected as the VFA-86 "Sidewinder" Sailor of the Year.

In January 2011, He reported to Naval Aviation Technical Training Center, Pensacola, FL, as an instructor at the AME "A" School.

His decorations include two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various personal and unit awards.  He is qualified to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist insignias.
